East African Reptiles -Watamu Bio-Ken Snake Farm
East African Reptiles is dedicated to protecting and conserving reptile species and their habitats across East Africa. Their work involves conducting research, engaging in conservation activities, and fostering collaboration with local communities to ensure the survival of endangered reptiles. They aim to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices that mitigate threats such as habitat loss, poaching, and climate change, thereby preserving the region’s rich biodiversity. They empower communities with snake education, advancing research, and promoting conservation. They aim to reduce human-snake conflict and minimize the impact of snakebites for the benefit of all. Animal Activists Kenya donated a total of KES 45,000 to the Taylor Ashe Antivenom Foundation in Watamu; the donation has been used to purchase new boots, lab coats, and dust coats for the team.
Local Ocean Trust – Watamu Turtle Watch
Watamu Turtle Watch is an incredible nonprofit organization that is dedicated to preserving the habitats and lives of sea turtles in the Watamu region. They provide education to the local community and are always on the front lines when it comes to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured or sick turtles back into the wild. Animal Activists Kenya donated a total of 45,000, which will go directly towards providing veterinary care to sick turtles in the area, ensuring that they have the best possible chance at survival.

Kiunga Community Conservancy
Kiunga Community Conservancy, located along Kenya’s northern coast, protects vital marine and coastal habitats, including coral reefs, mangroves, and endangered sea turtles. With our KES 45,000 donation, the conservancy launched a plastic collection drive focused on cleaning turtle nesting beaches and key fishing areas. This helped reduce marine pollution, safeguard wildlife, and engage the local community in preserving their fragile coastal environment.
